What are "After-Hours Orders"?

After-hours orders are stock market orders that you can place outside the regular trading hours of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), which are typically from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time (ET), Monday through Friday.

These market orders do not execute when created. Instead, they queue up and execute immediately when the market opens on the next trading day.

This feature provides you with the convenience and flexibility to place orders outside of the trading hours of the NYSE. This is especially convenient if you are based in a different time zone.

However, please keep in mind that placing orders outside of normal hours carries additional risks due to less liquidity and higher price volatility. The price can change when the market opens the next day. That’s why it's important to understand these risks and your own risk tolerance before placing after-hours orders.
