What’s new and improved?

We've focused on making your Xapo card more powerful and versatile:

• Expanded global acceptance: Your Xapo card now works in over 110 countries. We've enhanced its capabilities at more pay-at-pump fuel stations (when using your physical card), additional hotel and car rental chains, and even underground parking facilities. Plus, enjoy enhanced online acceptance for travel bookings and cruise lines with your virtual card, all supported by the latest 3D Secure flow for secure online transaction confirmations. To access these latest functionalities, please ensure your Xapo app is always kept up to date with the latest version. 

  

• Manage your spending with multiple virtual cards: You can now manage your spending more effectively with up to five virtual cards. Dedicate cards for different purposes like subscriptions, online shopping, or travel. You can even customise each card's name and colour for easier identification, helping you track spending and stay safer online. If you're unable to order additional virtual cards in the app, simply cancel your current virtual card to activate this feature on your account.

  

• More rewarding cashback program: Earn up to 1% cashback, paid in BTC, on qualifying purchases. We've expanded the merchant categories included, so you can reward yourself for even more of your everyday spending. You can now earn cash back on paying your utility bills (electricity/gas/water), car and motorhome rentals, alongside professional services like accounting.

  

• Even cheaper bitcoin spending: Keep even more of your BTC as we've significantly reduced the spread to an ultra-low 0.1% (down from 0.6%) when you spend from your BTC wallet. Combined with our cashback program, using your Xapo card to spend bitcoin is now more rewarding than ever. You can withdraw funds or make purchases from billions of merchants around the world using your BTC or USD balance. 

We’re also rolling out targeted upgrades, such as new Visa cards with dramatically improved acceptance and contactless features for our members in several countries, and upgraded Visa Metal cards with full contactless support for users in Latin America and the Caribbean.

• Pay your way, globally: Use your secure virtual card online and your PVC or metal cards for in-person payments or ATM withdrawals.

• Zero foreign exchange fees: We don’t charge foreign exchange fees, and you’ll earn cashback in BTC on your purchases. Xapo members save an average of $100/month on foreign exchange fees.*

• Seamless crypto integration: Xapo Bank successfully bridges the gap between traditional banking and crypto. We give our members access to a US Dollar and Bitcoin account. USDC/USDT deposits into Xapo are immediately converted to USD, giving instant dollar cash value.

• Security and control: Your card is protected with multiple levels of authentication and transaction alerts for security and peace of mind. You can easily freeze, replace, and manage your cards right from the Xapo Bank app.

• Stay Protected: 

  • Use Virtual Cards for your online purchases. 

  • Always use Chip and PIN instead of swiping your card when possible. 

  • Adjust spending limits in the app before making large purchases, and remember to lower limits afterwards for security. 

  • Got a big purchase coming up? We can temporarily increase your spending limits. Just reach out to our support team. 

• Save on foreign exchange: 

  • Always choose to pay in the local currency when travelling. For example, if you're in Europe, pay in Euros. 

  • Decline offers from merchants to pay in USD, as these can include markups of up to 12%.
