Xapo When do I need to buy a stock to be eligible for dividend payments?
To benefit from dividend payments, you must purchase the stock before the “ex-dividend date” or “ex-date”.
This date marks the point at which a stock begins trading without the right to a declared dividend. Simply put, if an investor purchases a stock on or after the ex-dividend date, they will not be entitled to receive the upcoming dividend payment.
There is no standard time between the ex-date and dividend payment date. Timing varies depending on the company and its dividend policy.
Please note that dividends will be paid to your Xapo Bank Account the day after the official payment date.
It is important to have a clear understanding of a company's dividend policy before making an investment.
