To achieve our talent goals, we developed the Xapo Bank Talent Framework, a robust talent acquisition system that ensures a smooth and standardised recruitment process. Our focus is on providing a seamless experience for both the recruitment team and candidates through the entire process. 

This framework maximises efficiency, fosters coordination between recruitment team members, and ensures accountability. Importantly, it reflects Xapo Bank's commitment to fairness, promptness, and professionalism. 

From Candidate To Xapien: What Are The Steps Involved?

Our Talent Framework is divided into several stages, each with a specific purpose and set of activities. 

1. Planning and Preparation

The first stage is the Planning and Preparation stage, where the recruitment team liaises with the hiring manager to identify the key competencies required for the position and then create a job description. They also determine the most effective channels for sourcing candidates and develop a candidate evaluation process.

2. Sourcing and Screening

At this stage, the recruitment team uses various channels to attract potential candidates. They review resumes and cover letters and invite the most qualified candidates to the HR interview. 

In this first Zoom call the candidates receive more information about the company, working culture, team structure and contract/payment terms. On their part, the interviewer assesses behavioural competencies, cultural fit and briefly discusses the candidate’s career - if all requirements are met the candidate will proceed to the next stage.

3. Evaluation and Assessment

The Evaluation and Assessment stage includes a comprehensive assessment of candidates' technical skills by internal team members and the hiring manager. For certain roles, this stage might involve completing a take home assessment.

The technical interviews will be at least two at this stage - one with Lead/Senior members of the team looking for a new hire, and the one with the hiring manager.

4. Decision and Offer

At this fourth and final stage, the team involved in the recruitment process makes a final decision and extends an offer to the chosen candidate. 

This stage also involves discussing the terms of employment and preparing for the candidate's onboarding process. For their first week at Xapo Bank, a new Xapien is supported very closely by the HR team and his or her line manager to ensure a smooth transition into the new role and company.

Throughout the entire talent acquisition process, we emphasise communication, transparency, and feedback. Candidates are regularly updated on the status of their application and provided with constructive feedback to help them improve their chances of success.
